Reduced-Exertion HIT (REHIT). Metcalfe et al. (2012, Eur J Appl Physiol 112:2767-2775, doi:10.1007/s00421-011-2254-z) had sedentary men and women do brief all-out sprints inside ~10min of easy cycling, progressing 1x10s -> 2x15s -> 2x20s; over 6 weeks VO2peak rose 12-15% and insulin sensitivity 28% (men) on just 30min/week total. Tier 2 — sedentary population. Represented here as the terminal 2x20s form (collapsing the 6-week progression). Maximal sprints; true power far exceeds 200% FTP (200 is the schema ceiling).
